Course Overview

A specialized training program designed for footwear designers, product developers, and digital creatives to master Blender for professional shoe modeling, realistic texturing, and high-end product visualization. Participants will learn to build accurate footwear models, create premium renders, and present designs suitable for clients, portfolios, and production concepts.

Course Modules

Module 1: Blender Essentials for Product Design

Introduction to the Blender interface and workflow for footwear projects
Navigation, viewport shading, modifiers, and scene organization
Setting up reference sketches, blueprints, and shoe lasts
Importing external files and preparing modeling scenes

Module 2: 3D Modeling the Shoe Upper

Base mesh creation for shoe uppers
Building panels, overlays, reinforcements, and design lines
Modeling collars, tongues, linings, and padded sections
Adding stitching, perforations, and branded logos

Module 3: Sole and Outsole Design

Modeling midsoles, outsoles, heels, and foxing details
Sculpting traction patterns, grooves, and textures
Creating air units, cushioning details, and performance elements
Adding stitch-down and welt constructions

Module 4: Accessories & Detailing

Designing laces, eyelets, buckles, zippers, and pull tabs
Modeling trims, metallic hardware, and branding components
Using arrays, curves, and instancing for repetitive details
Dynamic presentation of laces and accessories

Module 5: Materials, Textures & UV Mapping

UV unwrapping techniques for footwear forms
Creating leather, suede, knit, mesh, and rubber shaders
Applying embossing, bump maps, and normal maps
Adding logos, prints, and decals with texture painting tools

Module 6: Lighting & Rendering

Professional studio setup for footwear rendering
HDRI environments and three-point lighting methods
Enhancing reflections, shadows, and realism
Rendering with Cycles and Eevee engines
Post-processing with depth of field, bloom, and color correction

Module 7: Final Project – Complete Shoe Visualization

Model and render a full footwear product (sneaker, boot, loafer, heel, etc.)
Create multiple presentation views and close-up detail shots
Develop branded presentation boards and lifestyle scenes
Final review and critique session
